Planner of the week series

Since I do use quite a few of my own Personal-sized planners in rotation and not all of them are widely known, I thought I‘d start a series to showcase some of them. The planner of the week-series!
If you are a member of the Philofaxy-Group on Facebook you can also follow the series and all the nice people commenting to it there: [1]

Black Winchester 4CCF King Croc

19.01.2020: This week my EDC-planner of choice is my black Filofax Winchester King Croc

Red Balmoral Personal

26.01.2020: This week my planner of choice is my red Personal Balmoral.
I already had one of those and sold it but I missed it, so I bought one again. Btw, I prefer those without the big back pocket.

Winchester 4PLF Pigskin

02.02.2020: This week my planner of choice is my really used Pigskin Winchester.
This one I got from the Netherlands and in its left inside pocket I found a note from a local airline. It looks like an a employee was the previous owner of the Filo. The seller was unable to provide further information as he got it from a garage sale. I like to entertain the romantic vision of an airline-pilot which used it for many years all around the world. It does look like it. 😁
Remark 1: the button has been replaced!
Remark 2: It is usually my diary-Filofax in which I write my daily personal thoughts with the help of my out-of-control fountain pen-collection. Not on Filofax-paper though!

Yellow Original Personal

09.02.2020: This week my planner of choice is a sad little Filo. I love it because of the colour and that is the reason I have chosen it for this week. It is a lively yellow Personal Original.
As much as I love this colour, the Filo has to live a life in isolation. Something with its finish seems to be problematic, it takes every colour it gets into contact with. You can see it in the photos. I only transport and store it in a little bag fearing that more of the colour will be lost otherwise. It also has the quite typical cracks on the spin and closure. I still love it though!

Buckingham 2BLF

16.02.2020: This week my planner if the week is my Buckingham 2BLF. Bridle leather. This Filo seems to scream „I am made of leather!“. It is quite sturdy and seems to be made for ever and ever.

Tan Belmont Personal

23.02.2020: This week my planner of the week is my Personal Belmont. I has quite a soft structure and very nice leather. I got it in near mint condition and it did not change that much since I never use it really. I have a Pocket Belmont too, but that one really has Patina as it was used very much by the previous owner. See the difference in the pictures!

Winchester 4LCF Lizard-Print

01.03.2020: This week my planner of the week is my brown Personal Tejus? At first glance it looks like a Tejus but it is not. It seems to be the model before the Tejus but I could not find a picture in the old Filofax-catalogues. It is a Tejus-looking binder having Winchester features. The old catalogues do list a „Winchester Lizard“ plum-coloured and yes this Filo is not brown like the first pictures suggest. The closing popper and the inside does show its original colour, possibly some kind of plum.

Black Kensington Personal

08.03.2020: This week my planner of the week is a non-vintage model with many fans throughout the community. It is quite hard-wearing but also has a very soft structure. This is my, quite run-down, black Personal Kensington. I like its leather, it is quite stuffable and it has some kind of dignity to it. I got from goodwill for 99 Euro-Cents.

Burgundy Sherwood

15.03.2020: This week my planner of the week is a vintage model with an interesting history. I received it just this past week. A burgundy-coloured Personal Sherwood. The Sherwood Personal has been made from 1990 to 1994 or 1995 and it was redesigned in 1994 with „alternative“ (possibly cheaper) leather. More details and how to spot differences can be found in the Filowiki.

Black Stratford Personal

22.03.2020: This week my planner of the week is the lesser known brother of the Kensington I posted two weeks ago. The Personal Stratford. The leather of the Stratford is a bit more supple and if I had to choose one of these two one I would prefer the Stratford. The only drawback is that the Stratford is only available in black.

Winchester 4PLF Pigskin (cleaned)

29.03.2020: This week my planner of the week is a repost. Since my cleaned Pigskin did change so much I did not want to show it anymore but I made my peace with it. So here it is, the Pigskin Winchester 4PLF after intensive cleaning and care. I added the before-pictures for comparison.

Black Finchley Personal

05.04.2020: This week my planner of the week is a rather new model which does have a few fans in the community. A black Personal Finchley. I already had a few of the other colours and the leather seems to vary quite a bit. This one has a really nice leather. At least in my opinion.

Raspberry/Magenta Balmoral 10CLF Karung

11.04.2020: This week my planner of the week just arrived here. It is a vintage model which was produced in the 1980s. It is not easy to pinpoint it in the Filofax-catalogues. There are mentions of build-to-order models made of exotic leather like this Karung snake-leather and the colour-options for Karung include violet and pale-plum. I would call the colour of my Karung Magenta or Raspberry though.
The style of this one is like the Vintage (1980s) Balmoral 10CLF, which is a trifold with a jot-pad on the right. Two very long pen-sleeves and a big pocket on the left. Did I mention 30mm rings?
The leather has a very special touch - you can feel the small scales of Karung snake. It is a stiff planner, does show no fading of colour and is in a very very good condition.
I was unsure of the colour judging from the preview photos of the seller. But I do like it and it is useable for me.

Red Chameleon Personal

19.04.2020: This week my planner of the week is not a vintage model, it is my red Personal Chameleon. While I don‘t quite like the looks of the inside, I am quite fond of the outside printed leather. The planner is structured but the leather itself is not very stiff and I really love the colour. I have had other colours too but I only like the red and the black.
